Cuttyhunk Island

Cuttyhunk is the outermost of Massachusetts’ Elizabeth Islands. It is where the story begins and where the crew return to hide from the British. In the present day, it is where Laurel’s grandfather tells her the tale on their walks across the island.

The ship

One ship, two names

Volume I

COMMERCE

A sleek, newly designed schooner that falls into the lads’ hands through a strange chain of events. Their first challenge is finding a crew that can sail her.

Volume II

PYGG

The crew give the COMMERCE a new name when they flee the British. Sailing out of Cuttyhunk Pond on the edge of the privateer fleets, she survives by stealth and ingenuity.
